Introduction

JW Reed Christian Academy (JWRCA) provides this internal web application to facilitate enrollment, grading, and school-wide communication. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information for students, parents, and staff.

Information Collection

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Identifiers: Names, email addresses, and phone numbers.
  • Academic Records: Grades, attendance, and enrollment status.
  • Technical Data: IP addresses, browser types, and access logs (used for security auditing of our hosting environment).
SMS & Mobile Communications

Strict Non-Sharing Policy:

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Your mobile number is used strictly for transactional notifications such as grading alerts, enrollment status, and school calendar updates.

Student Privacy (FERPA and COPPA)

We comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Student records are only accessible to individuals with a "legitimate educational interest."

This application is for internal school use. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without direct parental consent provided during enrollment.

Data Security

Data is hosted on Microsoft Azure and protected via industry-standard encryption (AES-256) and secure access protocols.

I. Acceptable Use

This application is for the private use of JW Reed Christian Academy (JWRCA) community members. Users agree not to:

  • Share login credentials with unauthorized parties.
  • Attempt to bypass security features or access records of students not under their legal guardianship.
II. SMS Notification Program

By opting into SMS alerts, you agree to the following:

  • Purpose:
    Notifications include admissions updates, grading alerts, student reports/concerns, and school calendar reminders.
  • Fees:
    Message and data rates may apply.
  • Frequency:
    Message frequency varies based on academic activity.
  • Opt-Out:
    Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe.
  • Support:
    Reply HELP for assistance.
  • Delivery:
    Delivery is subject to mobile carrier coverage. The School and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
III. Limitation of Liability

The School provides this application "as-is." While we strive for 100% uptime on Azure, we are not responsible for technical outages or data delays caused by external network providers.

IV. Termination

Access to this portal is granted at the discretion of the School Administration and may be revoked upon student withdrawal or violation of these terms.
